Long-haul

adj. — travelling a long distance: a long-haul flight, long-haul truck drivers.

Developed countries

collocation — a developed country has had modern industry, transport, etc. for some time and now bases much of its economy on services.

Developing countries

collocation — a developing country or area of the world is poorer and has less advanced industries, especially in Africa, Latin America, or Asia.

Landlocked

adj. — surrounded by the land of other countries and having no coast.

A once-in-a-lifetime experience

adj. — a once-in-a-lifetime experience or opportunity is very special because you will probably only have it once.

To treasure

verb — to take great care of something because you love it or consider it very valuable: I will always treasure those memories of my dad. This pen that my grandfather gave me is one of my most treasured possessions.

To prize

verb — to think that someone or something is very valuable or important:

Local cuisine

collocation — local a style of cooking: French cuisine.

Go sightseeing

collocation — the activity of visiting interesting places, especially by people

See the sights

collocation — see places of interest = go sightseeing.

Been around the block

idiom — to have a lot of experience of something, especially when this means that it is difficult to trick or surprise you: when you’ve been around the block as many times as I have, not much shocks you any more.
