The given line graph illustrates how many tourists went to a specific Caribbean island over an 8-year period.
At first, the number of visitors who stayed on the island outweighed those staying on cruise ships with around 250,000 and 750,000 people respectively in 2010. This trend continued until 2016 when it reversed with more people staying on cruise ships (1.5 million) than on the island (1.25 million). The reversal continued with an increasing gap in numbers of 0.5 million between the two modes of accommodation in 2017.
With regard to the total number of visitors, the figures represented a less complex pattern starting with 1 million people at the beginning of the period in question and ending with 3.5 million in the year 2017 with a general upward trend. While the figures increased, there was a surge in the total number from just over 2.5 million to 3.5 million between 2016 and 2017.
Overall, there was a general upward trend in all aspects covered in the graph and the total number of tourists had increased by 350% by 2017.
